Hypnomédia is a performance and installation that tinkers with the capacity or, more accurately, the incapacity for individuals to process the vast amount of data generated by the media machine.

Borrowing from “zapping” and “video scratching”, the device enables the user (or performer) to create hypnotic visual and sonic canvases. Seemingly taking control over his media environment, the user can’t help but enjoy the feeling of power and entertainment it provides him with until it becomes clear that he is not in control at all.

Just as a television viewer, he can change the channel but not the programming…
