If, like me, you are using the official 0.4.5 release of WiiFlashServerJ from wiiflash.bytearray.org (link down) on Mac OS X, you might have encountered problems such as slowdowns or crashes. If that’s the case, read on. I might have a solution for you.
Ben Berman posted (link down) an updated version of the server dubbed WiiFlashServerJ+BSB on the WiiFlash mailing list somewhere last year. It will most likely fix the crashing and chugging issues you are having. At least it mostly did for me. I say “mostly” because I still have an occasional crash but it’s much better than version 0.4.5. Since, as far as I know, this release is not hosted anywhere and since Ben has authorized its distribution, I thought I’d post it here so anyone can get access.
As far as I can tell, the source code for that version did not make it to code.google.com/p/wiiflash. If anybody has access to the source code, please send it over and I will gladly host it here as well.
By the way, the “Cannot launch Java Application” is a different issue. If you are facing that problem, you simply need to start WiiFlashServerJ+BSB in 32-bit mode. You can do that by selecting the app, displaying the “Get Info” window and ticking the “Open in 32-bit mode” checkbox.
Hope this helps !
